Chicken pakkavada is the simplest and most delicious snack. It has recently grown in popularity. We may easily create them at home or serve them as a welcome snack to visitors. Chicken pakkavada is a popular fast-food snack at tea stalls.

  • 1/4 cup of Besan flour(kadala mavu)
  •  piece of boneless chicken
  • For chicken
  • 1/6 spn. of turmeric powder
  • 1/4 spn. of chilli powder
  • 1/4 spn. of garam masala
  • For pakkavada
  • 1 no of Onion
  • 2 no of green chilli
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • A handful of leaves( I took coriander leaves,mint leaves and cumin leaves)
  • 1/4 spn. of chilli powder
  • 1/6 spn. of turmeric powder
  • 1/4 spn. of garam masala/chicken masala
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for fry
  • Cook boneless chicken along with turmeric powder,chilli powder,garam masala and little bit of salt.Allow to cool and shred the chicken using grinder or by hand.
  • Mix finely sliced onion,chopped leaves,crushed ginger with hands.
  • Add besan, shredded chicken,chilli powder,turmeric powder and chicken masala in to the onion mix.
  • Add 3 tbsp. of water and knead well to make a pakkavada texture as shown in the picture. Do not add too much of water.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry pakkavada till golden brown color.

Note :

  • You can add semolina/rava for making the pakkavada more crispy
  • Do not add too much of water because if the mix is watery, pakkavada will not be crispy.
