The Calicut Trading Company, based in Perinthalmanna, has been in the industry for many years, having been founded in January 2000. The Managing Director, Mr Hamsakutty C, has been working in the rice and grocery industries since 1985, and in 2000 he founded the Calicut Trading Company with his friend Kabir. For over two decades, the company has been directly sourcing rice and groceries from farmers and mills, bypassing intermediaries.

In January 2022, Hykco Stores opened in Perinthalmanna, offering its own branded high-quality products marketed within a 20 km radius of Perinthalmanna Housing Colony Road. The products are of excellent quality and come in attractive packaging.
